Our men in BLUES

The way Kamran Akmal batted with the the lower order to take Pakistan to respectability, showed that the pitch and dew had nothing more to offer. But the first session was enough to create jitters to the Indian batsmen. The Men in Blue looked like they were suffering from Early Morning Greens. I am sure they were wondering, "If Pathan and Zaheer are getting this much out of the pitch, Akhtar and Mohd. Asif will make a meal out of us" .

Show them some grass and you will be witness to "Domino Effect". It would be hard to recover from here. Pakistan has taken full advantage of the situation and are sitting pretty. It would be a huge accomplishment for India, if they can get away with a draw here. From 0/3 in the first over of the game, who would have imagined such a turnaround. My arguement that the team will fail outside the subcontinent just got a boost.

Can't agree with you more about the Men in Blue, even though Pakistan is part of the sub-continent. Our boys' performance is always like the * mark that you find in ads for motorcycles when they refer to the bike's performance. At the bottom of the ad, in minute letters will be printed "under ideal test drive conditions". Same too with our guys.
As to your anti-Chappell mission, I am not a great fan of his, though he was a fantastic batsman and slip fielder. My dislike is because he asked his brother to bowl under arm to prevent New Zealand from scoring a six off the last ball and winning the match. It was lousy and I can't respect a man like that at all (with the caveat that I fully agree with him on what he said about Ganguly. Going back to an old topic).
Well, as to your previous post on Atherton, sorry for commenting about that here. Just tell Atherton that the boot is on the other foot now. All these years, England and Australia, mostly in that order, had been dictating terms. Now it is being done by cricket playing countries like ours. Doesn't justify what India is trying to do. A taste of their own medicine, is all I am trying to say.

Ramki,
Your comments about Ganguly is no exception to the gullible nature of a passionate Indian cricket lover getting carried away by media hype. They make and destroy heroes at will. But lets agree to disagree there. The test of captaincy will be shown when India plays outside the subcontinent; when we will know the importance of Ganguly's presence.

Rajesh,
Fair enough. I am sure the "...gullible nature...." includes you too.

Ramki,
Mostly no, because, my nature is to suspect everything. But sometimes I do get carried away - as u say.
